Chahooooo!

The collective noun for a group of wildcats is a ‘destruction’. While this fact was unknown to the founding fathers of the team (along with the fundamentals and rules of cricket), the name has become hugely fitting over the past few seasons.

The Wildcats play an entertaining brand of cricket, highlighted by big hitting, quick-fire fifties and hundreds and a reputable strong bowling attack. Many members of the original and subsequent teams have left to chase the big money playing (drinking) overseas, but they all come back and love keeping up to date with the performances and banter from those that have kept the franchise evolving.

Each player to reach three caps is immortalised with a baggy cap of their own, and the team kit has now grown to include mismatched dress blazers adorned with the famous logo. The team has consistently improved its quality over previous seasons, with catches being held more often than not, extras decreasing, and fewer fielding-related injuries (much to the half-disappointment of some original members).

The Wildcats. It’s a way of life.
